History
Founded by Phil Jackson of the Yorta Yorta nation, ICG is one of the first 100 per cent Indigenous-owned civil
construction and labour hire businesses in Australia.
After three decades in civil construction working with companies including Lendlease and Ventia, Phil founded ICG in 2017 with a focus on building Indigenous engagement and creating long-term employment for his people.
With 30+ years in the civil construction industry, Phil has extensive experience in meeting client needs across Indigenous engagement and civil construction.
With a focus on Indigenous participation and community engagement, ICG offers a range of construction services including labour hire, plant and equipment, and lump sum contracting.
ICG’s story has been one of controlled growth, resilience and grit.
ICG soon developed into two companies, ICG (Indigenous Civil Group) and ICS (Indigenous Civil Services), to ensure minimal disruption for clients and continuity of employment for our people. ICG’s workforce has grown from two employees in 2019 to 140+ in 2024, with ICG’s services evolving from labour hire to plant and equipment, lump sum contracting, and diversifying into site amenities and equipment hire.
Together, ICG and ICS have the people and the equipment to deliver on major projects anywhere in Australia, including $10+ billion projects such as the West Gate Tunnel.
